Two hospitalized after car crashes into downtown Kingsville building

Two people were sent to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after an SUV-type vehicle crashed into a convenience store on Main Street in Kingsville early Monday. Ontario Provincial Police photo

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident in downtown Kingsville early Monday morning that sent one of the two occupants to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A second occupant was also taken to hospital, but those injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The accident took place around 12:30 a.m. near Main Street East and Spruce Avenue.

The SUV-type vehicle jumped the curb and struck the side of a convenience store causing an undisclosed amount of damage.

A section of Main Street East of Spruce was closed during the morning as police investigated.

No witnesses were at the scene when police arrived, said Const. Steve Duguay. OPP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call 1-888-310-1122.
