Golf stretches improve flexibility, range of motion
Whole-body routine aims to prevent injury
EDITOR'S NOTE: It’s strongly recommended that you consult with your physician before beginning this or any exercise program.
In this video, Kingsville fitness instructor Marilyn Farnworth demonstrates some golf stretches that will help loosen your muscles, improve your flexibility and range of motion and help prevent injuries.
Each stretch should be done slowly, in a controlled manner emphasizing technique. Once you obtain a comfortable stretch position, hold the stretch without bouncing for 20 to 30 seconds. Make sure to breathe deeply — don't hold your breath.
This is a whole-body routine involving stretches for the hamstrings, quadriceps, inner thighs, hip flexors, lats, obliques, chest, back, shoulder, triceps, head and neck.
