Add some balance to your cardio, strength workout

Not just for walking, urban poles give stability during exercise routine

In this video, Kingsville fitness and urban poling instructor Marilyn Farnworth demonstrates cardio, strength and balance exercises with urban poles. Not only can you walk with your poles, you can also use them for exercising. The poles will help to stabilize you and make balancing easier.

Perform each cardio and strength exercise for 30 to 60 seconds and hold your balance positions for 20 to 30 seconds on each side. Remember to breathe deeply and not hold your breath.

Balance helps to improve your stability and mobility and can help prevent falls. When your poles are planted on the ground, press down on the base of the ergonomic handle for stability and to engage your core and upper body muscles.
